DOGZAZ, a local company in rural De Pere area, is sponsoring a FUNdraising Dodgeball Tournament for area high schools, in conjunction with the athletic sports workout place in Ashwaubenon, D1 Sports Training Center. The event will be held on Saturday, May 14 at D1 Sports, 1630 Commanche Ave., Green Bay, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Former Packer great Ahman Green has issued a shout-out to all high schoolers to get their 10-person team together, have a crack at winning the tourney, and playing a “celebrity” team of adults for some prizes. Green believes in getting and keeping high school students moving and motivated, toward a goal of peak athletic performance and all-around good health. That’s why he’s hosting the event at D1 Sports Training Center and encouraging participants to visit the various training stations & equipment. Specialized trainers will be on hand that day to discuss sport-specific training exercises and strength training, flexibility and skills for every discipline and answer any questions.
The event will be an elimination tournament. Each team must have a minimum of 3 females on the team. Sets consist of 3 rounds containing 6 members, at least one female on the floor in each set. Every team member will receive a personalized DOGZAZ cap with identifying unique dog tags, and T-shirt.
DOGZAZ is a proud supporter of K9s For Warriors, a fantastic organization that pairs rescue dogs with post-9/11 veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. This excellent organization has an amazing track record and financial reputation, having several graduates in Northeastern Wisconsin and whose lives have been made easier with the companionship of a service dog. Proceeds from the event will be donated to K9s For Warriors.
